on the journey. samina explores silence and ethereal spaces; what she refers to as the secret gaze. samina interprets the train travel and it’s 7 stops as 7 transformations leading to deeper knowledge and intimacy of the self; an evolution of inner connectivity and awareness.

7 gazes” are detailed panels from an installation "the spinning wheel of illumination" - a 7 chamber labyrinth of 12 ft mirrored surfaces, that invites viewer inside to explore their lights and shadows.

“a game of shifting mirrors” are extracts from a 300+ page text of poetic consciousness samina wrote on the journey, which formulated her theory of transformations. editing the text with an old typewriter with restricted settings, she repurposes the text as simple semantic triggers and provocations, void of any narrative.
